This week is going to be a collection of miscellaneous thoughts. First off, I did some searching on YouTube and found some interesting sites including several on Eric Clapton http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_8wbTHzNcQQ and http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_av4Vz3BfcQ I've been lucky enough to see Eric twice in concert up in Seattle. I'm hoping that he comes to Seattle at least once more. I'm also a Carlos Santana fan. I've seen him twice as well. I found this clip on YouTube as well, it's his performance from Woodstock, one of the greatest live performances, http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XnamP4-M9ko The last time that I saw Carlos was at the White River Amphitheatre. When he played this song, he used clips from this footage up on the screens next to the stage, it was something to see. I was quite happy that this last concert that I saw of his, he played a nice retrospect of his career, including many of his hits from the late 60's and early 70's.
Like most things on the internet, there are good things and bad things. YouTube can be a fun place to explore and see what people have posted. Some of it fun and interesting to look at and others boring and uninteresting. I have some experiences with Podcasts from work. They can be quite useful, it allows someone to be trained without having to leave where they work. If something isn't understood, you can just replay the podcast, until it is understood.
I have discovered that someone down in Reed College, Portland, Oregon has taken a picture that I had used on my Flickr site http://www.flickr.com/photos/tbirdshockeyfan and claimed it as their own. Needless to say I was quite upset when I discovered this. I only found out about it, as I was looking at my Flickr site and discovered an odd URL that someone had used to look at my picture. I was surprised to see the blog that was written about the picture. The blogs author at least linked the picture back to my Flickr site, but what they wrote irritated me. So far nothing has been done, although I have now de-linked the picture so all that they have on their post is a space where it says the picture is currently unavailable, although if you click the spot where the picture is suppose to be, it still takes you to my picture and my Flickr site.
Today's UEFA Champion's League Final looks like it was a great game to watch. I can't wait to go home and watch it. I was torn over who I wanted to win. Man. U a team I have seen in Seattle and cheer for in the EPL. They were trying to become the first back to back champions since A.C. Milan in the late 1980s. Barcelona won, which means that when they come to town in August to play the Seattle Sounders FC, I'll be watching the reining UEFA Champions League Champions play, that will be a very cool event indeed.
This is the last week's worth of training, so I'm not sure if more training is going to be coming in the future, if there is, I'll be blogging on here about that. If there isn't, I might just blog about sports on here, thus my reason for giving the blog its title. Hopefully the M's will pull out of their funk and get back on track. Seems like when the offense is clicking the pitching needs help and vice versa. Just like the old days with the M's, one part got fixed and the other became broke, oh well, a true fan supports their team whether they win or lose, no matter how badly they play. Go M's!
Thanks for taking the time to read my thoughts and hopefully looking at the links I have been providing.

Mind Wanderings
This week in training we learned about online sites that allow people to create and save documents. I signed up and explored Zoho Writer. It looks like a fairly easy site to use. I have also had a Google Documents account that I had last used in January of 2007. We also were to explore LibraryThing. It is an online site that allows people to catalog their personal library collection. I really enjoy that site and have been a member for several years. Here is a link for anyone that is interested in looking at my collection http://www.librarything.com/profile.php?view=tbirdshockeyfan
Now on to the sports portion of this blog. I was happy to see that some home cooking helped the M's win 2 out 3 against Boston. Hopefully by being more competitive at home, that well help them draw in the fans. I know that they had a nice attendance over those three games, although I know that a large portion of those fans were Boston fans.
I was disappointed in how the Sounders FC played on Saturday night against FC Dallas. I think that they thought that it was going to be an easy match and took things too lightly. Against Colorado on Saturday night, hopefully they play better. You can't always play to the level of your competition and be successful.
I am looking forward to the UEFA Champions League Final in Rome of Manchester United and Barcelona. I really don't care who wins this game, as I root for Man U, but with the Sounders FC playing Barcelona later this year in August, it would be great to see them play against the Champions of Europe.
Thanks for taking the time to read my blog. I bought a new camera recently and have begun to put up some new pictures that I have taken with it on my Flickr site http://www.flickr.com/photos/tbirdshockeyfan I hope you have a great day.

Wiki not the way for me
I've never really been fond of putting my thoughts and comments up in a public forum and I know I wouldn't really enjoy doing it in on a Wiki, since anyone and everyone can add/change/modify what is being written, whether they have a knowledge on the subject matter or not.
Now on to more fun topics. I went to the Sounders FC match against the Galaxy on Sunday. It was an entertaining match. The referee was more involved in the match than he should have been. He was doing such a grand job that both coaches were visibly upset with him. He gave out a total of 8 yellow cards and 1 red card. The red card went to a Sounders FC player, James Riley. Seattle better watch out otherwise they may get a reputation as a dirty team. This is the second week in a row in which they have had a player sent off with a red card. I think LA is going to be a nice rival for the Sounders FC. There seem to be some animosity between the players which will make for fun watching in the future.
The Mariners are starting to struggle. The offense has struggled at times and the pitching has as well. Hopefully they can turn things around once they get back to Safeco Field at the end of the week.
I have added some pictures to my Flickr site . http://www.flickr.com/photos/tbirdshockeyfan The pictures are from the Sounders FC match against the Los Angeles Galaxy and also a few pictures of Mt. Rainier in Washington State that I took with a new camera that I just purchased.
Thank you for taking the time to read my ramblings. Please feel free to leave me any comments. Have a wonderful day.

Picture
As most of you have guess, the picture that I have up on my profile isn't of me. It is of Freddie Ljungberg of the Seattle Sounders FC. I love the expression on his face, it says it all.

More Random Thoughts
In today's training we looked at Del.icio.us I remember setting up an account with them. I had to try and remember the password and username for it. I've not used it since like October 2007. Sometimes being constantly connected to either the net or technology in general gets to be a drag. I enjoy new technologies, but I don't need, nor want to feel connected all the time. It is very nice not being connected all the time. It makes me feel like I have a life of my own, one that isn't being controlled by technology.
On to the sports thinking of the day. I'm looking forward to the final two matches in the UEFA Champions league this week. Manchester United being up a goal against Arsenal should help them win this two legged affair. They only have to manage a draw and they will move on. Chelsea is a bit different though. They went to the Nou Camp and managed to hold Barcelona to a scoreless draw, but by not scoring any goals they have to hope that it ends in a scoreless draw or that they can win the game at Stamford Bridge, being that if Barca scores the same amount of goals, Barca will move on because of the away goals rule.
I'm excited about this year's EUFA Champions League as there is a rumor going around that the Sounders FC are going to be playing another of the teams in this year's semi-finals. They are already scheduled to play Chelsea at Qwest Field, Seattle, Wa on July 18th. There have been rumors going around for several months now that Barcelona is going to be playing the Sounders FC, but nothing has been confirmed. Although people have been saying that Barcelona had it on their website that they two were going to play a match. I'd love to see any of those teams come. Manchester United, as I saw them a few years ago in Seattle, when they played Celtic. Arsenal is a power in both the EPL and in Europe, so seeing them play would be incredible. Barcelona would be wonderful as well. I got to see Real Madrid play D.C. United a couple of years ago in Seattle. So being able to see the other powerhouse of Spain would be a dream as well. One day, I hope that one or more of the top Italian teams would come to Seattle to play as well.
The Mariner's continue their wonderful play. I've been pleasantly surprised at how well they have been playing. It is quite nice to see them playing as a team. The camaraderie that they have been showing is impressive. Hopefully they can continue this the rest of the season. They may not have the talent level of the other past Mariner's teams, but I don't remember a Mariner's team this seemingly close.
The Seahawks, in my opinion, had a great draft. Hopefully getting two starters with their top two picks. It is going to be interesting to see the types of changes that Jim Mora and his staff bring to the table.
The Sounders FC got a very lucky point this weekend in Chicago. Fredy Montero getting sent off early in the second half, caused the Sounders FC not too many problems. As is the case, most of the time when a player gets sent off, the team that is playing a player down, plays better. The Sounders FC certainly picked it up a level or two. They had more space to work in and really looked like the attacking team at times. Having Kasey Keller in net, I think really helps this team and if they can keep him healthy, as well as their main stars, they should make a nice run deep into the MLS playoffs. I am looking forward to adding to my Flickr site when the Sounders FC host the L.A. Galaxy on Sunday May 10th at Seattle's Qwest Field.
Thanks again for reading my blog. Have a wonderful day.
